The Manly Warringah District Cricket Club was founded in 1878.It is the second oldest existing district cricket club in New South Wales.
The club was an inaugural Grade Club in 1893-94 and continues to participate in the Sydney Grade Cricket Competition - the strongest competition of its type in the world. The Club's home ground and training venue is the picturesque Manly Oval. Manly Oval is the recreational showpiece of the northern beaches and the gateway to Manly. It is also the venue of some memorable encounters over the past century including a match in 1891 with Lord Sheffield's team which included the legendary W.G. Grace and a local Manly team of 22 players.
Built upon strong administration, Manly has only had 13 Presidents throughout its 128 year history, one of whom, Aubrey Oxlade, became Chairman of the Australian Cricket Board (ACB). Another former President, Gary Flowers, is a former CEO of the Australian Rugby Union (ARU). Current President Andrew Fraser has been at the helm since 2003.
The Club has a successful history and this success has continued over recent seasons, capturing the prestigous Club Champiosnhip in 2011/12, a Third Grade premiership and a Fifth Grade premiership in 2010/11, and a 1st Grade T20 Premiership in 2009/10 years. We have won the Club Championship 4 times in the last 15 years.
