Junior Reps take 7 from 8 matches as strong results continue

Another fantastic weekend of results for all of our Junior Rep teams, with 7 from 8 victories again showing how string cricket is on the Northern Beaches.

There were some really big wins highlighted by some big score from our boys U/14's and U/15's which is a great sign for the future.

But the highlight was without doubt the double victory for our debut girls U/13s and U.15's, the first time this has happened this year.

Niamh Bullen (U/15) and Charlotte Camburn (U/13) were again the standouts from both girls games. They have both been a tower of strength with the bat this season and have bright futures in the game.

Charlotte hit a dominant 41 well-made runs in the U/13s and has scored 171 at 34.5 this season. On the back of Charlotte's effort, the girls were able to get to 128 and then restrict North Shore to 121 from their 35 overs. The best with the balls were Rianna Simpkins with 2 for 20 and Amelia Sim also with 2 for 20.

Niamh scored her 3rd half century of the season to lead the team to a match winning score of 141, and the girls only missed out on an outright win by the barest of margins, the ball almost bowling the #11 batsmen on the final ball of the day.

It has been a great campaign by the U/15s, which sadly comes to an end due to the 5 round season. 2 wins for a team filled with many first time players is a great reflection of the improvement in the team but also the comradery that can be so easily seen. Well done to all the girls and especially coach Simon Waddington (who happens to double as our 5th grade captain) for the amount of effort he has put into the team.

The U/13s continue on for another 2 matches.

The boys seem to have turned up in a dominant mood across all the matches. The U/14s and U/15s both hit huge scores, with the 15s 7 for 286 their highest this season. A second half century in as many weeks to Hilton Ovenden (74) and 68 to Joel McGregor led the way, while 41 from 31 balls to Aidan Bennett finished the innings off perfectly.

Skipper Ned Barnet with 3 for 11 was the top bowler, not giving Inner West Harbour a chance in bowling then out for just 69.

The U/14s were equally impressive with the bat. The entire top order contributed with a top score of only 51 from Josh Seward and bottom score of 17 in the top 7 on their way to 8 for 268. A 4 wicket haul to Oliver Melville then restricted Illawara to only 138 from 49.1 overs.
