Burdekin is a community based, not for profit organisation in the Northern Sydney area that offers a range of support and accommodation services to young people aged between the ages of 12 and 24 years, and their families. Their aim is to prevent young people becoming homeless by developing healthy relationships, stable accommodation and establishing goals to secure education or career pathways.
To help Burdekin achieve its objectives, MWDCC will be taking part in fund-raising events such as the Northern beaches Pub2Pub Run and Burdekin’s Home Sweet Sleepout and providing more general support as needed. This is one of the ways the Waratahs can continue their active involvement with the local community as part of its Manly for Manly program. This partnership is an obvious one considering the need for these services on the Northern Beaches.
