Place of Birth
Mona Vale, Sydney, NSW.
Nickname and why?
Cubby – because I was once the youngest player in 3rds and was the ‘lion cub’
Years at Waratahs?
This will be my 14th season for the Tahs
Our club tag line is “Bleed Blue”. What does Bleed Blue mean to you?
Bleed Blue to me means to love the game of cricket and to love the Northern Beaches of Sydney. Manly Cricket Club is the mixture of both.
Who is the current Manly Cricketer that you enjoy playing cricket with the most and why?
Jarrod Rawlings – just a genuinely nice guy with no ego.
Favourite band or musician?
Love a bit of Elton John.
If you could invite any 3 people to dinner, dead or alive, who would it be?
Shane Warne, Ben Cousins, Andrew Johns – all big personalities with stories to tell. Super sportsmen as well.
What is your earliest memory?
Meeting my younger brother Harry for the first time (he is 3 years younger than me).
Which Waratah team mate is the classiest dresser?
If the Manly Cricket playing group was Big Brother, who would you vote off first?
Probably myself – I enjoy my own space so being stuck in a house full of blokes would do my head in!
Who do you think is in-line for a huge season this year?
What are your team goals for 2017/18?
To continue to improve the awesome team culture in second grade and for us to be the hardest working team at training. The results will take care of themselves if we do this.
What puts a big smile on your face?
Crossing the finish line of a race where you know you have pushed your hardest and done well.
If James Sutherland gave you the top for 1 day, what would you change about cricket in Australia?
Players to be selected in first class cricket based on performances in grade cricket rather than potential and performances in junior cricket.
If you had an all expenses paid trip anywhere in the world for a week, where would you go?
I would stay in Australia – Ningaloo Reef on the Western Australian coast.
If you could go back in time and give anyone a piece of advice, who would it be and why?
I would give it to myself – don’t worry about what others think. Something I struggled with cricket-wise for quite a while.
If you could walk out to bat to any song blaring in the background, what would it be and why?
Moves Like Jagger (Maroon 5) – I scored a ton once with this song in my head the whole time.
What are you currently saving up to buy?
What is your place of solace?
Being in the surf on a hot sunny day riding my mini-mal with nice clean 2 ft waves rolling in.
