Happy Days OrphanageThe Happy Days Charity is an official community partner of MWDCC as part of it’s Manly for Manly community program.

The Happy Days charity is a charity organisation setup by MWDCC Life Member Mike Pawley, Mike has travelled extensively throughout Asia, but was especially moved by the plight of the underprivileged in Cambodia when visiting there in 2011, on top of the rich culture and history of the Khmer people.

Upon return to the country with his family, Mike visited a school just outside Siem Reap to better understand the scale of the issue. He provided the children with school clothing, stationary and some sports equipment but realised much more could be done. The “Happy Days-Cambodian Village School Inc.” charity came into existence which aims to improve the education quality, living standards and general health and well being of Cambodian children.

Now, the Happy Days charity and MWDCC are joining together to help this worthy cause. For one T20 match each year we will be joined by Mike and his Happy Days troopers to help raise money and awareness for the children of Cambodia. There will be more information on Happy Days on the days, plus people there to accept any donations.

This is a cause close to the heart of our 1st grade coach Tim Cruickshank. He has visited Mike and the Happy Days team in Cambodia 6 times now and has had an amazing experience each time.

If you can’t make the various events to support this worthy cause, please support Mike and his worthy cause by donating at the website http://www.happydayscambodianvillageschoolinc.org.au/home

Or increase awareness by visiting and supporting the facebook page http://www.facebook.com/pages/Happy-Days-Cambodian-Village-School-Inc/370687436334281

As Mike would say, happy days.
