Jamieson pulls up stumps on great career

This week is a big week, and there will be plenty of focus on our 4 Grand Final sides. But for now, right now, we want to focus on retiring 2nd Grade skipper Andrew Jamieson.

“Jamo” pulled up stumps on his playing career yesterday after 2nd Grades defeat to Wests in their Semi Final to Wests. It wasn’t quite the fairy tale we all hoped for, but that is cricket.

His contribution to our club needs to be celebrated.

His ability to mould the young men of our club into great men is almost unrivalled. Player’s love playing for him. Ask anyone who has come through 2nd Grade over the last 8 years, and they will tell you exactly that.

His contribution to our playing group cannot be under sold… everyone that has played not only with but also against him knows what a great man he is. Respect from your opposition is hard to obtain, but it’s what he always got.

Since his debut in 2016/17, Jamo has taken 224 wickets at 15.75. He had a best of 7/30 Against Sutherland last year.

He also scored 1,160 runs at 17.58. His 64 in yesterday’s Semi Final was his highest score for the club.

Jamo has developed a deep love for our club, but our love for him runs deeper. The positive part of this is that Jamo will not be lost to the club and will be a big part of our off-field structure in the coming seasons.

Congrats on a great playing career.
