Lenton becomes new record holder for most hundreds

The Mounties Manly Warringah Waratahs are pleased to announce that it has a new record holder – Jay Lenton.

On Saturday 26 October 2024, 1st Grade skipper and 10 year player broke the record for the most amount of 100s in our clubs 146 year history, moving to 16.

Jay has been a mainstay at the club since 2013/14, and has scored all of his 16 100s in first grade, including a memorable 211 not out in last years quarter final.

The enormity of Jay’s accomplishment can be seen by the quality of players he overtook, which includes club greats Terry Lee, Matthew Phelps and Adam Crosthwaite (all of whom are tied on 15).

Given there is still plenty of cricket left this season, and Jay has yet to indicate any future plans of retirement, it is very likely that Jay keeps adding to his total of 16 hundreds, and who knows, may hit the illustrious 20 mark.

Whilst records are made to be broken (and this one eventually may be), Jay will forever be part of our clubs history for his amazing acheivement.

A massive congratulations to Jay on this accomplishment, and we look forward to seeing you adding to the tally!
