The Manly Warringah Waratahs are excited to officially launch the 2024/25 season of our “Manly for Manly” community program.
This year, we proudly welcome Travel Managers as our new sponsor for the program, a partnership that will help us continue to make a positive impact in our local community.
The 2024/25 season also see a change in leadership, with Jayden Kennedy taking over the program from long-time Community Manager, Phill Edwards, ensuring a seamless continuation of the program’s strong legacy. Phill will remain involved as needed to support this transition.
The season has kicked off at full speed with an outstanding turnout from our players and volunteers at the annual Beach2Beach fun run. A total of 69 Waratahs participants – the largest non-school team on the day – took part, and through our collective efforts, we raised more than $4,500 for the Burdekin Association.
As a reward for being the largest team, we were granted $2000, which has been generously donated to the Mike Pawley “Happy Days” foundation, furthering our commitment to the Northern Beaches community.
This season, we will once again focus on supporting Junior Cricket across the Northern Beaches, with our popular Junior Cricket Clinics set to inspire the next generation of cricket talent in the Beaches.
These clinics not only provide valuable coaching and development opportunities for young players but also create a strong connection between the Waratahs and the grassroots cricket community.
But our work doesn’t stop there – the 2024/25 season will also see the Waratahs getting behind a range of important causes.
As part of our continued commitment to giving back, we will be supporting Movember, the National Breast Cancer Foundation, and our long-time charity partner, Burdekin. Our players, coaches, and staff will be involved in various events and initiatives throughout the season to raise awareness and funds for these vital organisations.
As always, the “Manly for Manly” program is about more than just cricket. It’s about being an active, engaged, and supportive part of the Northern Beaches community.
We know that our future success, both on and off the field, is directly tied to the strength of our community. By building these relationships and giving back, we aim to nurture future generations of Waratahs players and leaders who have benefited from the engagement of our current Waratah playing group.
We’re looking forward to another season of success and impact, and we can’t wait to see what we can achieve together as part of the Manly for Manly program.
Stay tuned for more updates throughout the season, and thank you for your continued support!
