First Grade Captain Jay Lenton has been announced as an official Ambassador for Burdekin’s HomeSweet2019 event on September 20.
Organised by Burdekin, alongside charities, Women’s Community Shelters (WCS) and Link Housing Scholarship Program, HomeSweet2019 is an annual sleepout in which people sleep outside for a night in an effort to raise funds for homelessness.
Burdekin is the official Charity Partner of Manly Cricket, and aims at addressing issues of youth homelessness on the Northern Beaches.
The HomeSweet2019 is another great initiative that aims to do this, by encouraging people to ‘do it rough’ for a night, and experience whats its like to be homeless.
As ambassador, Jay will be around on the evening, and talking about the importance of community in helping to prevent homelessness.
The HomeSweet2019 event will be taking place on 20th September 2019, at 6pm at Freshwater Surf Club. To learn more about the event, or to donate or take part in the sleepout, click here.
