Mickey’s 5th grade ton gets record media coverage

Mickey and Will Manly Milestone
Never before has a debut 5th grade century received so much media coverage.

Mickey Edwards outstanding innings on Saturday has drawn national media attention on both the Cricket Australia website as well as www.news.com.au.

When Mickey arrived at the crease, this chances of him getting the team home “appeared slim” according to both publications, however his single digit grade batting average was just a cover-up as he drove and pulled his way to a ton.

With Mickey’s long layoff due to injury, there is no doubt that his batting has improved out of site, and he could grow into a handy all-rounder in future years.

It was great to see him reach his ton with his good mate Will, who also received a bit of national media coverage.
