Waratahs set to power in the New Year! - Rnd 8 Teams vs Fairfield

Fresh from a welcome festive break the Waratahs are set to maintain the rage as we go into Round 8 this weekend against Fairfield/Liverpool in a 1-dayer. While the Grade teams were festooning over the break it was fantastic to see our young Green Shield side flying the Waratah flag high currently sitting undefeated and second on the table (by a bonus point) with 5 wins from as many games – well done fella’s! With First Grade unchanged, Rowan Hamman returns from a broken hand to lead 2’s with Sam Gainsford pushing back to 3’s, Willy Outred back to 4’s and Billy D’Arcy back to 5’s; all quality young players who will bounce back up the grades no doubt.

In another change wicketkeeper/batsman James Boyer moves down to 5’s in a move designed to assist further in the development of his batting and this will also see young Aiden Bariol promoted up from 5’s to 3’s in what will be his 3rd Grade debut. The Club is truly blessed to have two outstanding young keeper/batsmen in our midst and we wish both of them well as they embark on new challenges.

This round will also see form players Jack Ritchie (2’s), Ryan Farrell (3’s) and Max Burgess (5’s) seeking to maintain their form and all continue to press for higher honours.
