Vale Phil Kelleard

The Manly Warringah Waratahs are saddened to hear of the passing of ex-Waratahs coach Phil Kelleard.

Phil coached our club in the 1992-93 season when our 1st grade side made the grand final. He was a popular coach and related very well with the players.

Of course, Phil was a dedicated member of the Western Suburbs District Cricket Club where he was a Life Member. He was an aggressive fast bowler who played in first grade premiership winning teams in 1970/71 and 1971/72, captained by Bob Simpson.

In recent years Phil had battled pancreatic cancer and died peacefully in his sleep in his Rozelle residence.

Our condolences to Phil’s family and the Wests club on their loss.
