The Sea Eagles Sports Business Academy, launched in April 2025 marks, an exciting new practical pathway into the sports industry — and through our new community partnership with the Sea Eagles, the Manly Cricket family is well placed to benefit.
In partnership with TAFE Queensland, the Academy offers a 12-month dual-diploma program (Diploma of Sport + Diploma of Leadership & Management) that blends classroom learning with immersive experience at the heart of the Sea Eagles organisation. Students will complete around 100 hours of work-integrated learning across departments such as marketing, media, operations and leadership, within the Sea Eagles’ facility environment.
It is a tremendous opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience at an NRL club, while at the same time furthering their education. They will interact with club staff, players and coaches, bolstering their credentials and readiness for a career in the industry.
For our Manly Cricket community — junior players, aspiring administrators, sponsors, supporters and beyond — this represents a unique chance. With the clubs now collaborating under the full “Manly Warringah” banner, the Academy offers a clear line of sight from the Northern Beaches sporting landscape into careers beyond the field.
Whether you’re interested in match-day operations, business development, digital media or sponsorship activation, this is a pathway designed to equip you.
Some of the standout features of the Academy include:
• A learning environment based at the Sea Eagles Centre of Excellence in Brookvale, including classroom facilities overlooking the field.
• An initial intake of 23 students that commenced July 2025, with the course running to May 2026. Further intakes will be open shortly.
• For high-achieving graduates: up to two full-time roles inside the Sea Eagles organisation.
• Direct articulation into university degrees in sports development, management or business.
If you’re thinking ahead to life beyond playing cricket, or someone in the local sporting community keen to build a skill-set around sport, business and leadership, now is the time to explore what the Sea Eagles Sports Business Academy has to offer.
