Manly Warringah District Cricket Club proudly congratulates local product Joel Davies on his selection in the Australian T20 squad for the upcoming tour of Bangladesh.
The tour involves 3 matches across 17th June, 19th June and 21st June, all at the Bir Shrestha Shahid Flight Lieutenant Motiur Rahman Cricket Stadium in Chattogram, a city in south-eastern Bangladesh.
The selection marks another incredible milestone in the rapid rise of one of the Northern Beaches’ brightest cricket talents. From his junior days with the Harbord Devils, through the Manly Warringah junior pathways and into NSW Premier Cricket with Manly, Joel’s journey is one that the entire local cricket community can celebrate.
Still just 22, Davies has emerged as one of the most exciting young all-rounders in Australian cricket. His performances for the Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash League, along with strong domestic form for New South Wales, have earned national recognition and an opportunity to represent Australia on the international stage.
Joel’s selection continues a remarkable progression through the Manly system. A former Green Shield and Poidevin-Gray player and captain, he has long been recognised for his ability to influence games with both bat and ball. His development through the club’s pathways has been a source of enormous pride for everyone who has watched his growth from junior cricket through to professional ranks.
Importantly, Joel’s story is a reflection of the strength of cricket on the Northern Beaches. Beginning at grassroots level with the Harbord Devils before progressing into junior representative teams and ultimately the NSW Premier Cricket ranks, his journey highlights the opportunities available for young cricketers coming through local clubs and community programs.
