Beach2Beach Charity Fun Run

Manly for Manly Proudly Supported by

On Sunday 25th August 2024 the Beach2Beach Charity Fun Run took place, raising much needed funds for worthy local charities on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. Organised by the Rotary Club of Brookvale for 30 years, the event has raised over $5.5 million dollars.

This year the Waratahs entered a large team in the fun run to raise much-needed funds for the Burdekin Association, a community based, not for profit organisation in the Northern Sydney area that offers a range of support and accommodation services to young people aged between the ages of 12 and 24 years, and their families.

The Burdekin Association have been a community partner of the Manly Warringah Waratahs for almost a decade.

69 members of the Waratahs community, comprising both the mens and womens playing group, volunteers, board members and sponsors ran the 13km, 6km and 3km events, raising more than $4,500 for the Burdekin Association.

With 69 people as part of the Waratahs team, the Tah’s had the highest number of entries for a not-for-profit team. This meant that the Tah’s won an additional $2,000 for charity, which will be donated to another one of our charity partners, Happy Days.

Started by club legend and life member Mike Pawley, Happy Days aims to raise funds for young girls in Cambodia to attend High School and University.

Congratulations to all who participated in the event and raised crucial funds for both the Burdekin Association and Happy Days.
