Carolyn Whiteley has been nominated as junior volunteer of the month for the amazing role she has played in getting Collaroy Plateau Cricket Club ready for Season 2020/2021. She stepped into the role as Girls Co-ordinator this season and made an immediate impact. She embraced the role and, in the process, became an invaluable member of the junior committee. Her business and strategic skills brought a new focus on future planning and player engagement for the whole club.
Carolyn contributed many hours in the preseason building strong registrations for this and future seasons. Understanding that CPCC needed to build from the ground up she organised a very successful “Master Blaster Come Try Day” which resulted in CPCC fielding their first girls-only Master Blaster team. A great achievement.
In addition, Carolyn was successful in winning a $4,500 grant for CPCC to support the growth of girls cricket at the club . The grant will enable CPCC to continue to build on the already strong foundations of girls cricket on the Northern Beaches.
She also implemented a 3-week skills session program for the U15 girls and is working towards getting the girls more involved in the club and developing their coaching skills for the younger age groups coming through.
Congratulations and thanks for all your hard work, Carolyn! We are very lucky to have someone like you helping to develop female cricket on the Northern Beaches.
