The Mounties Manly Warringah Waratahs capped off a historic 2025/26 season at the annual presentation evening on Saturday, 12 April.
Returning to the Manly Pacific, more than 200 guests — including past and present players, partners and family members — gathered to celebrate another outstanding year for the club.
MC duties were once again handled by Sam Hole, who delivered a polished performance throughout the evening.
The night began with Club President Andrew Fraser, who provided a comprehensive overview of one of the Waratahs’ most successful seasons, which included poems dedicated to both the 1st and 2nd Grade Premiership sides.
He then announced the first major honour of the evening, presenting the President’s Award to 1st Grade Manager Henry Lucius — a thoroughly deserving recipient and one of the club’s most selfless contributors.
Awards continued throughout the night, recognising standout batting and bowling performances across all teams as well as a range of club-wide honours. A full list of winners is included below.
One of the most significant moments of the evening came just before the dinner break, with Phil ‘Skid’ Marks officially inducted as the 54th Life Member of the Manly Warringah District Cricket Club.
Marks delivered a heartfelt speech, acknowledging the coaches, teammates and family who have supported his journey, including his late father Keith — after whom the club’s Clubperson of the Year award is named.
Following the break, attention turned to several of the club’s major awards. The George Lowe Medal, awarded to the player who has made the most significant contribution to the local community, was presented to Nathan Pryke.
The Senior Women’s Player of the Year award went to Lauren Kua, capping off a superb season that also saw her earn a Big Bash debut.
The parents of Life Member number 51, the late Michael “Juice” Shepheard, were invited on stage to present the Michael “Juice” Shepheard Senior Male Player of the Year award.
Ned Hole was a deserving recipient following another outstanding season, highlighted by a dominant finals campaign that played a key role in both 1st and 2nd Grade securing premiership success.
The 2nd Grade Premiers were then invited on stage to receive their premiership medallions, followed by the 1st Grade side.
This marked a historic achievement for the club — the first time in our near 150-year history that both 1st and 2nd Grade premierships have been secured in the same season.
Congratulations to both teams not only on their 2025/26 premierships, but also on their sustained excellence over recent years.
Following the votes being tracked and tallied throughout the evening, the Women’s Player’s Player award was presented to Keira Terry, who polled a commanding 23 votes to cap off a fantastic season that also included her First Grade debut.
Meanwhile, Ahillen Beadle took home the Men’s Player’s Player award in a closely contested vote, once again featuring among the club’s major honours and highlighting his consistency.
In another incredible moment of the night, club stalwart Doug McGrath was named the 2025/26 Keith Marks Clubman of the Year. A respected and generous figure within the club, McGrath is a highly deserving recipient of this honour.
Roy Vumbaca introduced the award with a fitting tribute to McGrath’s service. In another special moment, all four of Keith Marks’ children — including Phil, who had earlier been awarded Life Membership — were in attendance to present the award.
