Mounties Manly Warringah Waratahs local junior Jack Edwards has reached a major milestone in his cricketing journey, making his Australian Men’s T20 debut in the opening match of the series against Pakistan last week.
Edwards becomes the first local junior to represent Australia since Jackson Bird, marking a proud moment for the club and the wider Manly Warringah cricket community.
Edwards played his junior cricket with Beacon Hill and St Augustine’s College, progressing through the local ranks before establishing himself at representative and domestic level. His rise to international cricket highlights the strength of Manly Warringah’s development pathways and the vital role community clubs play in producing elite talent.
The national call-up follows several seasons of Edwards establishing himself as one of the country’s premier domestic cricketers, capped off by a fantastic Big Bash League campaign with the Sydney Sixers. Edwards was one of the competition’s standout all-round performers, with his consistency and impact recognised through selection in the BBL Team of the Tournament, as voted by coaches across the league.
From his early days in Mounties Manly Warringah Waratahs colours to pulling on the Australian T20 shirt, Edwards’ debut is a reward for years of hard work, persistence and high-level performance.
Everyone at the club, along with the wider Northern Beaches cricketing community, congratulates Jack on this outstanding achievement and looks forward to following the next chapter of his Australian career.
