They are the lifeblood of this club and the Junior Representative Program, as well as our pathway program, are both things that we are very proud to be a part of.
We have amazingly talented kids popping up all over the place. We have had eight local players selected in NSW metro squads for the upcoming state championships, while our Junior Rep teams again had a record breaking season.
It’s also great to see the kids break into the grade ranks. This weekend will see the grade debuts of two of our promising Green Shield players Hayden Brown and Gabriel Harris.
Hayden is a strapping fast bowler, while Harris is a talented all-rounder who can hit a ball a long way.
In the ever decreasing age of grade cricket, it’s great to see these guys getting an opportunity.
VISSER’S FIVE
IT was a disappointing weekend last weekend with washouts in the three lower grades and a loss in first grade.
However there are still some shining lights that can’t be ignored.
Michael Visser’s progress over the last two years has been a breath of fresh air.
He isn’t the quickest bowler in the world, nor is he a big swinger of the ball.
But he always puts the batsmen under pressure.
His five wicket haul last weekend was a great reward
for some hard work.
GAME FACES ON
TODAY sees all grades take on North Sydney in an always entertaining clash. The Bears have had a lean time of it this season, but that won’t stop each of our teams pushing hard for victory. It’s important not to take any club lightly and that’s exactly what we need to be cautious of.
We need to turn up with our game faces on and show the opposition we mean business as soon as we start our warm up.
After our last start loss to Blacktown in first grade, I am really expecting the boys to come out firing on all cylinders and take it to the opposition, showing no mercy.
