Juniors success continues with President Cup victories for U11s, U12s and U15s

The Manly Warringah Junior Representative program has had more success with the premiership victory of the U/11, U/12 and U/15 Presidents Cup teams.

President Cup teams are essentially our second XI sides in each age group, with the DCA the top representative competition in Sydney.

It’s amazing result for all 3 teams and finishes off a very successful Junior Representative season which saw all 5 of 6 DCA age groups make the finals.

The U/11s were able to chase down 63 from Hornsby after 6 bowlers contributed with wickets. Tom Cheetham then scored a match winning 22 at the top of the order to get the Tahs home by 4 wickets.

Our U/12 side also had a close match. Bowling first, we were able to restrict North Shore to 8/63 before a wag of the tail saw them get to 83.

Paceman Mason Ballard stared with 2for 5, while spinners Cameron Frost (3/23) and Josh Cooper (2/20) were also prominent with the ball.

The chase got off to the worst possible start, losing 2 for 0 in the first 2 overs. However 20 from Toby Mallon and a match winning 18* from skipper Mitch McGrath saw the Tahs home over the previously undefeated North Shore side.

It was the 4th year in a row that our U15 President Cup team came away as champions, this time defeating Central Coast.

Batting first, we hit 123 from our 50 overs, Jack Melchiore top scoring with 33 at number 3. With the ball, it was always going to be a Waratahs win, opening bowler Callum McKay taking 5 for 9 to help reduce Central Coast to 7 for 14 and eventually a final total of 38.

Congratulations to all 3 teams and all other teams on the Junior Representative season. You should all be very proud to represent our great area, and we hope to see you all progress through to the grade club ion the years to come.
