Manly for Manly – Bleed Blue Blood Donation – Wednesday 17th September

The TravelSIM Waratahs have once again been working hard behind the scenes to bring our Manly for Manly community to life, and we are pleased to announce our first initiative for the season.

As part of our “bleed blue” tag line, our program will expand into blood donation with the Red Cross. Giving blood is one of the most important things that you can do. Most of the blood donated goes to people with cancer, as well as helping people who have suffered traumatic accidents, burns or undergone surgery. We all know people that have been inflicted with one of these issues at one time or another, and blood is one of the items that we can never have enough of.

We are after as many players & committee members to join the clubs donation team via the Red Cross “Club Red” program. Every donation you make throughout the year adds to the clubs total.

We have organised a group donation with the Red Cross at Dee Why Surf Life Saving club on Wednesday 17th September. We have 2 slots to attend, one at 4pm and one at 5pm. This will kick start the initiative off for the club & Red Cross. You do not need to sign up for Club Red if you are attending this as this will happen automatically when you sign up on the day.

For those that can’t attend Wednesday 19th September, you can join Club Red by completing the following process:

  1. Link to page https://www.donateblood.com.au/who-can-give/club-red/join-group
  2. Click “No” on “Do you know your donor ID?”
  3. Select “Manly Warringah District Cricket Club” as your group
  4. Fill in the details and submit
Please let our Community Manager Corrie Boss know if you are available on the above date & time so we can notify the Red Cross on final numbers. Please contact him at corrie.boss@manlycricket.com. Obviously many people will have work at this time, but most works allow you to take blood donor leave.

We are looking forward to the Waratah community all making an effort in giving something back by turning up next Wednesday & “Bleeding Blue” for a great cause.
