The Sydney Cricket Association has announced the 2024/25 Men’s Premier Cricket season draw.
The Mounties Manly Warringah Waratahs 1st Grade side will once again start their season with the Kingsgrove Sport T20 Cup on 21 September, while the lower grades will begin their season a week later, on 28 September, with a One-Day match against Fairfield-Liverpool.
The Tahs will then play two more limited-overs games: against Blacktown on 5 October and Randwick-Petersham on 12 October, before their first two-day match against local rivals Mosman.
Manly’s season will feature a mix of two-day and limited-overs matches, with the majority of limited-overs games scheduled before Christmas.
For the first time in more than a decade, lower grades will now play two T20 matches in the final rounds before Christmas, aimed at preparing players for future Kingsgrove Cup appearances.
These T20s will be “double headers,” with one grade playing in the morning and the higher grade in the afternoon. The Tahs’ lower grades will face Sydney Uni and Western Suburbs in these matches.
While the lower grades experience T20 cricket, the 1st Grade team will travel to Dubbo for two Limited Overs matches over successive weeks.
After the success of last year’s match in Orange, the Tahs will again take games to the country, facing Sydney Uni on 14 December and Western Suburbs in a Day-Night fixture on 21 December.
After the Christmas break, the Tahs will resume with a two-day match against Northern Districts on 11 January, followed by one more limited-overs match and three more two-day games. The regular season will conclude with a two-day match against Campbelltown-Camden on 1 & 8 March 2025.
Following a fantastic 2023/24 season—where the club secured its second consecutive Club Championship and 4th and 5th Grade titles—the Tahs are eager for more success, hoping to claim further silverware and redeem the teams that fell short in last year’s finals.
