The Mounties Manly Warringah Waratahs are pleased to announce its Board for the 2026/27 season following the Club’s Annual General Meeting.
The 2026/27 Board sees an important leadership transition, with long-serving Board member Joel Mason appointed as Honorary Deputy President. After many years of dedicated service to the Waratahs, Joel succeeds David Gainsford in the role.
Joel has been an integral member of the Waratahs’ Board for many years, leading the Club’s media, communications and commercial partnerships. His work behind the scenes has helped strengthen the Waratahs’ brand, grow key partnerships and support the Club’s continued success both on and off the field. His appointment as Honorary Deputy President is a well-deserved recognition of his longstanding commitment and contribution to the Club.
David Gainsford has stepped down as Honorary Deputy President to dedicate more time to his responsibilities as Director of Cricket. As the Club continues to build on its recent on-field success, the Director of Cricket role has become increasingly significant, overseeing the Waratahs’ cricket program, player development and high-performance pathway. David’s decision allows him to focus on ensuring the Club remains well positioned for sustained success on the field.
While stepping away from his executive position, David will remain on the Board as Honorary Assistant Treasurer, ensuring his experience and leadership continue to contribute to the Club’s direction. The Club sincerely thanks David for his outstanding service as Honorary Deputy President and looks forward to his continued impact in leading the Club’s cricket program.
The Club also notes that Adam Gummer has been appointed to the Executive Team as Honorary Assistant Secretary. Adam’s elevation recognises his valuable contribution to the Board and his ongoing commitment to the Waratahs.
Andrew Jamieson transitions from the Executive Team to the General Board, where his experience and continued involvement will remain an important asset to the Club.
The Club also welcomes back Phill Edwards, who rejoins the Board after taking the 2025/26 season away while travelling overseas. It is fantastic to see Phill return, with his decision to rejoin the Board reflecting his ongoing passion for the Waratahs and his commitment to continuing to contribute to the Club.
The Club thanks every member of the Board for volunteering their time and expertise in support of the Waratahs. Their commitment continues to play a vital role in the Club’s ongoing success both on and off the field.
