Perfect Day for National Breast Cancer Foundation on Sunday

On Sunday, the Manly Warringah Waratahs held our National Breast Cancer Foundation fundraiser at the Room at the Top at Manly Oval.

It proved to be an absolute hit with all attendees.

The aim of the day was to raise money and awareness for breast cancer through our partners at the National Breast Cancer Foundation, but these days are not just about awareness, information or funds. They are also about having fund, and we did that in spades.

Like anything ood, it wasn’t made easy with some match changes throughout the week, but the organising team pulled it off with aplomb.

A couple of big thank you’s. Firstly to Melinda Gainsford Taylor for chairing a panel that included breast cancer survivors and Dr Karen Shaw from The Northern Beaches Hospital. Karen is a specialist breast surgeon and was a fountain of knowledge. We thank her especially for her time.

She actually brought one of the auction items and then gave it straight to the person who was bidding against her in a beautiful touch.

Anthony Caruso, well known around the Northern Beaches cricketing circles, was our MC for the day and did a fantastic job as he always does.

We would also like to thank the organising team of Phill Edwards, Gina Gainsford, Emily Hatfield, Sallie Molyneux and Janelle Fowle for their amazing work and drive to get past all the hurdles, and deliver a great event.

More details on the amount of money raised shortly.
