The Manly Warringah Junior Cricket Association (MWJCA) has experienced a 50% growth in player numbers over the last 5 years. There is a lack of cricket facilities now and participation rates are projected to continue to increase.
We are currently 20 grounds short on a Saturday morning and juggling the available grounds is becoming increasingly difficult, resulting in games being cancelled if grounds are unavailable. Many players do not get access to cricket nets and grounds to practice.
The number of cricket facilities has not increased on the Northern Beaches in line with the growth in participation and population.
If more cricket grounds do not become available, junior games will need to be scheduled outside of their current times potentially conflicting with other cricket matches.
The Manly Warringah Waratahs would like you to show your support NOW by signing the petition. It is located at https://www.change.org/p/dick-persson-lack-of-facilities-impacts-junior-cricket?recruiter=620381744&utm_source=share_for_starters&utm_medium=copyLink
