Happy new year everyone and welcome to 2026!
As we move into the second half of the 2025/26 season, there’s plenty at stake for all our teams.
We are currently sitting in 4th place in the men’s club championship race, just 110 points behind Parramatta, who we play in Round 13, so the race is still wide open. All our teams currently sit inside the top 6. Premierships are what we build towards and so the back end of our season is usually our strong point, so keep a close eye on the table over the final five rounds.
In the women’s club championship, we currently sit in 6th position. It’s been a tough first half of the season, but we have some brilliant young talent coming through the ranks. We have invested heavily in our youth, so the experience our local juniors are getting will be invaluable for future years. Our Brewer Shield and W3s teams are going well and on track to play finals.
It has also been a great period for our Big Bash League (BBL) players. Both Ryan Hadley (Thunder) and Charlie Stobo (Sixers) have made their BBL debuts recently. Joel Davies (Sixers) is having a breakout season with both bat and ball with some outstanding performances that we all knew he was capable of.
Our Green Shield campaign is also off to a strong start with 3 from 4 victories at the time of publishing. Green Shield is always a fabulous time of the year and a great experience for all the kids. Please keep an eye on the scores over the coming weeks as Darcy Horstead and the team look to push deep into the finals.
Off the field, we have some exciting events coming up. We would love the broader cricket community to get behind these.
Firstly, our Cachet Group Golf Day on Friday 20th February at Long Reef Golf Club, is an important event for the club. Our overheads are increasing every year, especially with the addition of the Manly Warringah Cricket Academy at Cromer . This is one of our main fundraisers for the season and always a fun day for all. Teams are filling fast, so CLICK HERE to secure your team.
We also have hole sponsorship available for the day, with details available HERE. Contact Joel Mason at joel.mason@manlycricket.com for further details on Hole Sponsorship.
Our Belgravia Apparel School Holiday Coaching Clinics at the indoor Academy are also coming up, open for those aged between 8 and 15. The first January clinic is on the 15th and 16th, with the second on the 21st and 22nd. The Academy clinics commenced last year and have been a big success, with some terrific feedback from all the kids attending. Head Coach Andrew Jamieson does an amazing job. We still have places available for you to book your child in, which you can do by CLICKING HERE.
Finally, we have a great opportunity for all cricket lovers to contribute to the Belgravia Apparel Manly Cricket Academy via our “Buy a Brick” campaign. For $250, you or your business will have your name etched permanently as part of the Academy history, via your named brick being added to our “Brick” wall at the front of the centre. This will go live at the end of January.
To buy a brick, build a legacy and be part of the foundation that future Waratahs will stand on, CLICK HERE. Hurry though, as there are only 100 bricks available.
We look forward to a big finish to the season and wishing you all a happy and healthy 2026!
