4 Manly Warringah Waratahs have earned selection in the NSW Metro Squads for 2021.
2’s Premiership winners Joel Davies and Josh Seward were selected in the U/19’s squad, while Green Shield young guns Andrew Boulton and Josh Lawson were selected in the U/17 squad.
After a stellar season with the bat, where he was the top run scorer in 2nd Grade, Joel Davies earned his spot in the u/19 metro squad.
Joel scored more than 700 runs at an average of 40, which also included being awarded man of the match in the 2nd Grade Grand Final, and rightfully earned his spot in the squad.
Young quick and fellow 2nd Grade Premier Josh Seward was also selected in the U/19’s squad, after another fantastic season with the ball.
Seward continues to grow as a bowler, and demonstrated his raw speed and skill in 2s through last season, and will be an important member of the U/19 metro squad for 2021.
Young gun Andrew Boulton was a massive player for Green Shield and Manly last season, and has rightfully earned himself a place in the u/17’s squad.
Although still only being U/16, “Boults” made his 3s debut and was a crucial all rounder in all grades he played last season, and will be a promising prospect for the future.
Fellow Green Shield star Josh Lawson, has also earned himself selection in the U/17’s squad, despite still only being U/16.
After a solid Green Shield season, as well as being the man of the match in the 4th Grade Shires Grand Final, where Manly’s pathway brothers Warringah Cricket Club took home the gold, Lawson will be a big star for Manly in the future, and has rightfully earned his spot.
Congratulations to Joel, Josh, Andrew and Josh on your selections, and good luck for the 2021/22 season.
The Waratahs would also like to congratulate all players on their selection, in both the Metro or Country squads. It is an incredible achievement for all players, and is thoroughly deserved.
