The Raydel Manly Warringah Waratahs would like to thank Mickey Edwards on a wonderful career with the Tah’s and wish him luck as he moves to England to play County Cricket.
Mickey has signed a long term contract to play county cricket with Yorkshire, taking advantage of his English passport, and has left our shores this week to start pre-season.
Mickey has been a great servant of the Raydel Manly Warringah Waratahs. From his debut in 2010/11, Mickey took 197 wickets for the club, overcoming multiple back injuries to do so, as well as winning a 1st Grade Premiership.
Mickey was instrumental to the success of the club, as both a play and a leader.
Leading the first grade bowling attack when fully fit, Mickey also helped out lower grades as a bat when injured, showing his dedication and love for the club.
He came through our junior ranks to play first class and BBL cricket, something we are immensely proud of.
While we are always hopeful of seeing Mickey return one day, more than anything we are certain Mickey’s career will flourish in the UK. It is fantastic to see Mickey’s hard work being rewarded.
Go well Mickey and we hope to see you back in the Waratah blue for a few cameos in the future!
