The Beach2Beach Charity Fun Run is on again in 2026 and the Manly Warringah Waratahs Women’s and Men’s playing groups will once again enter a team, as part of our Manly for Manly Program.
As per previous years, our chosen charity partner is The Burdekin Association, one of our long time community partners, and we hope to raise a significant amount of money to help this very worthwhile cause.
This year’s event will be held on Sunday 23rd August, with four different distance options:
- Half Marathon, starting at Dee Why Beach
- 14km, starting at Dee Why Beach
- 6km, starting at Pittwater Park
- 3km, starting at Mona Vale Beach.
All distances finish at Newport Beach, where the “Finisher Festival” will feature a dedicated recovery area featuring physiotherapy, chiropractic, and medical support, live music to keep the energy alive, delicious food, BBQ, and drink stalls, as well as fun kids’ activities.
We first entered a team in 2019 and while we weren’t the biggest team, we were proud to raise more funds than any other team. After a hiatus for COVID we have continued to enter again and again, and have actually won various financial awards for the size of our team and amount of money that we have raised, with all prize money being donated back to our charity partners.
Our community team has liaised with our women’s and men’s coaches, and the run is part of our official pre-season program. Our playing group is ready and raring to go.
All players will be participating, and we encourage members of the Manly Warringah cricket community to join us in the event under our banner. It doesn’t matter if you want to sprint, run, jog or walk. Burdekin is a fantastic local charity and one of our official club partners. We all know how big a problem homelessness is, we see it as a club on a weekly basis.
