The TravelSim Waratahs are extremely proud to announce that young talents Jack Edwards and Aidan Bariol will be recipients of this years Basil Sellers Scholarship Program.
The program is made possible thanks to the generosity of philanthropist and former NSW Cricket Director, Basil Sellers. Since 2004, after a chance meeting with then test wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist, Basil has supported this program that aims to:
- Facilitate the development of a young talented cricketer/cricketers
- To support a cricketer’s move from regional to city life, if necessary
- To assist the cricketer with education, training, employment and social skills
- To retain in cricket, talented young sports people who have considerable ability in cricket and other sports

Both Jack and Aidan gained selection in this program thanks to outstanding performances over the last few seasons for the Waratahs, NSW and Australian representative teams.
Over the last few seasons, Jack has represented Australian U/16, NSW Metro U/17, CA XI U/19 and most recently the Australian U/19 side. Jack has also gained selection to the Sydney Sixers Academy Squad for this years Big Bash competition, and is poised for another impressive season with both bat and ball.
Aidan has also performed with distinction for a number of representative sides over the last few years including NSW U/15, Australian U/16, NSW U/17 and the CA XI U/17. ‘Baz’ has also found his feet at Grade level, scoring a number of fantastic centuries for the Waratahs last season, and is well-placed to continue performing in 2017/18.
Congratulations to both of these young men on this fantastic achievement. We cannot wait to see them thrive for the Waratahs over the coming season!
