Young Waratahs Named in NSW U/19’s State Challenge Squads

The TravelSim Waratahs are proud to announce that 4 of our promising young men have bee named in the squads for the upcoming NSW U/19’s State Challenge.

Jack Edwards and Aidan Bariol have gained selection, to add to a fantastic week in which they were also named as Basil Sellers Scholarship recipients. Both of these young men have been picked on the back of outstanding form in Grade Cricket last season, and fine performances for representative sides in recent seasons.

Joel Foster and Andrew Somerville are the other Waratahs to gain selection to the State Challenge. Joel joins us from Northern Districts and is a fast-bowler with fantastic potential, while Andrew will travel down from Newcastle as a fast-bowling all-rounder to play in the U/21’s competition and occasional grade game due to schooling commitments. Both of these men are perfect fits for the Waratahs and we’re extremely excited to see them excel over the coming season.

Taking place across October 4th-6th, the competition brings together the most talented young cricketers from across NSW Metro, NSW Country and the ACT. These sides then play-off over the three days, from which selectors choose the side to represent NSW at the National Championships.

Congratulations to all four of these Waratahs and good luck at the carnival in a few weeks!
