Bradstreet lands Pakistan Super League Coaching gig with Lahore Qalandars

We are delighted to announce that MWDCC Head Coach, Shawn Bradstreet, has signed a 2 year contract as Assistant Coach for the Lahore Qalandars in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

It’s just the second season of the PSL, and it includes players such as Shane Watson, Misbah-ul-Haq, Mohammad Amir, Dwayne Bravo and Brendon McCallum.

Winga will be Assistant Coach to Head Coach Paddy Upton in Lahore, after the two coaches guided the Sydney Thunder to be 2015/16 Big Bash Champions. Winga will remain as Assistant Coach for Sydney Thunder this season, as well as Head Academy Coach for the Sydney Thunder Academy. Brendon McCallum is also the Lahore Qalandars’ Captain and Batting Coach, which is just a little sweetner to the deal.

It’s great to see Bradsreet rewarded for all of his tireless coaching efforts, and everyone at MWDCC agrees that there’s no limit to where he can take his coaching. Wing has taken MWDCC to Club Championships, lower grade premierships and of course the 2015/15 1st Grade Premiership.

In terms of next steps for Wing, he is off to Dubai on Monday morning for a week of pre-season meetings, as well as the player draft. The PSL then runs in February 2017, but rest assured the MWDCC boys will be left in the capable hands of Assistant Coach Phil Marks, as well as the rest of the MWDCC coaching team.

Congrats Wing, we’re all behind you!
