The Styleness Manly Warringah Waratahs have named sides for Men’s 1’s and 2’s Round 5, Men’s 3’s, 4’s and 5’s Round 2, 1st grade T20 round 7 and Women’s 2’s, 3’s and Brewers round 4. This week see’s all 5 men’s grades facing Bankstown in a one-day fixture, whereas Women’s 3rd grade faces Universities, and W2’s and Brewers both face Northern District’s in a T20 double header at Manly Oval.
Last round saw some mixed outcomes for the Tahs, as rain affected play in most grades, with 1’s, 3’s, and 5’s all being drawn. 2nd grade continued their run of good form, with a cruising victory, bowling Gordon out for 72, thanks to 4fa from Tom Kaye, who is proving to be a great threat with the new ball this season. This total was chased down comfortably for the loss of 1 wicket.
What a whirlwind day it was for 4’s. After being skittled for a less than desirable total of 51, the Tahs jumped straight out of the barriers to take 4 early poles to have Gordon in strife. However Gordon clawed their way back, and desbite some last minute heroics from Andrew Boulton, they chased the total 9 down. Waddington and Boulton took 3 a piece. Special mention should also go to Jordan Daly for his remarkable knock of 125* in 3’s.
1’s will enjoy the return to of NSW allrounder Jack Edwards to the side, who is sure to boost the side, who play 2nd placed Bankstown. They also have an unchanged T20 squad to play Sydney at Drummoyne Oval, after last week’s washout.
2’s gain strike bowler Andrew Jamieson from 1’s, while 3’s are boosted by the return of all-rounder Jake Osborne and quick Josh Seward.
4’s will look to bounce back after last week’s narrow loss, as Jack Hobson is included in the side, while 5’s will feast off the return of Evan Dunnachie, Ollie Melville from injury, and James Waddington who comes down from 4’s.
Women’s 2nd grade are still yet to play a complete game of cricket this season, as they were washed out again last week. The side welcomes back Annabel Hutt, as they hunt for their first win of the season in the 2nd game of the double header on sunday.
Brewer Shield enjoyed a well deserved win last week out at Penrith, thanks to 55 from skipper Nat Guyot. This week they welcome Mia Nel and Kate Salmon back to the side. Brewers will kick off the double header games down at Manly Oval vs ND’s on sunday.
Women’s 3rd Grade unfortunately lost in a reduced game against Bankstown. After scoring 71, manly were not able to defend this, with Bankstown chasing it 3 down. This week the side welcomes debutant Sofia Davidson to the side.
