Greg West joins Manly Warringah Waratahs

The Raydel Manly Warringah Waratahs are pleased to confirm that Greg West has decided to join the club for the 2021/22 season.

A Left-Arm fast bowler, West has played 2 First class matches for the Blues as well as 3 Big Bash matches for both the Strikers and Sixers. He has also been a mainstay of the ACT/NSW Country 2nd XI side over the last few years.

A Newcastle product, the 26 year old played his juniors in both the Newcastle and Central Coast competitions before coming down to Sydney with Mosman. However West has made the move across the Spit Bridge for the coming Summer and couldn’t be happier.

“I’m really looking forward to contributing to an environment that pushes Manly to both short and long term success”, said West.

“Changing clubs was a difficult decision to make, but I approached Manly thinking it was the best thing for my cricket, especially with Morne Morkel part of the coaching structure.

I am looking forward to what the next few years hold for our 1st Grade side and the club as a whole”.

West didn’t play a lot of cricket in 2020/21 as a result of injury, however is fully fit and ready to go for the coming season. He will add depth to our 1st Grade attack and club as a whole, especially with Mickey Edwards and Jake Carden both returning from long term injury, Ryan Hadley within touching distance of higher honors, and plenty of young pacemen looking for on-field guidance.

We welcome Greg to the club and wish him well for the coming season.
