Junior Reps continue title run

The Manly Warringah Junior Cricket Association continued their successful recent performances over the last few years with more titles last weekend.

Grand Final victories were achieved in the boys U15s Div2, boys U11s Div1, boys U11s Div2 and girls U14s Div2.

Most of the games were tightly fought contests, with only the girls U14 Div2 resulting in an easy win.

In the U15 boys, we were able to defend 138 against Sutherland, taking a thrilling 17 run win. Henry Matthews with 35 and Cooper Vickery with 31 were best with the bat, while 3 wickets to Lucas Clarke and 2 each to Dan Carroll and Dylan Thompson paved the way for the win.

The girls U14s Div2 was a different story. Manly ran away with an easy victory after amassing 5/181 with the bat, mainly because of Gidget Robin with 43 and Elodie Spray with 32.

But the star was Amelia Hanstrum, taking 6 for 5 to easily take out the player of the match. Parramatta were bowled out or 17.

The boys U11 Div1 side completed an undefeated season, including all trials and their Newcastle carnival, defeating Parramatta on Sunday. Chasing 138, the boys reached their target 6 down thanks mainly to Tom Turner (38) and Luke Peak (35).

Lastly, the boys U11 Div2 side also went through the season undefeated. They played Illawara in the final. A resolute 40 from Wes Harpur helped set a total of 111 runs and a four-wicket haul from Thomas Graham sealed the deal, Illawarra all out or 58 in reply.

It ends a great junior representative season. Well done to all girls and boys across all age groups. We are looking forward to seeing you all progress to the senior clubs in future years.
