Manly for Manly – Movember is roaring success

Part of our Westfield Warringah Mall Manly for Manly community program involves the participation in the well-known Movember program each and every year. We are pleased to report that this year was another great success.

13 Waratahs participated in the event on behalf of the Waratahs, while another 4 members of the playing group also participated in the event but through their work. We raised $2,515 on our official page, as well as a further $1,125 from the 4 external participants, meaning that the Waratahs playing group raised $3,640 for men’s health. This $2,515 amount placed us 2nd of all the SCA clubs, and first out of all grade clubs.

This was a fantastic achievement by everyone involved. The top money raiser was actually Edwards Burgess with $720, although he did this through his work. The official top money raiser for the Waratahs was Joel Mason with $595, with Simon Waddington coming in a close 2nd with $530.

The Movember movement has grown amazingly over the last couple of years and has contributed a huge amount to the financial clout in the fight against men’s health, as well as raising the profile of an important issue. We thank not only the participants for our club, but the participants across the entire world.

Special mention needs to go to our brothers from Warringah Shires. They raised over $10k in Movember, easily accounting for ourselves in 2nd place as mentioned above. That is an absolutely amazing amount and means that they have won the SCA Movember competition for 3 years running. Doug McGrath was the highest money raiser with over $3,183 raised on his own. Congrats guys, you absolutely killed it this year. Well done.
