Ollie Davies to represent Australia at Under 19’s World Cup

One of Manly’s best up and coming cricketers Ollie Davies has been selected in the 15 man Australian squad for January’s Under 19’s World Cup in South Africa.

Despite being injured for most of this season, Davies historically strong performances have earned him his spot in the squad for the upcoming competition.

This included a breathtaking innings in the 2018 U/19 National Championships, where he smashed a record-breaking 207, including 17 sixes, six of which came in the same over.

Ollie has also been dominant for Manly when not injured, having already made 3 first grade centuries, earning him a NSW Rookie Contract, and Sydney Thunder Big Bash Contract.

The Australian team will be coached by Test greats Chris Rogers and Ryan Harris, with will be playing three pool matches in Kimberley, South Africa, before the 16-team competition splits into two groups of eight for a Super League and Plate finals series.

Ollie’s selection is a testament to his natural cricketing abilities, but also his commitment to the game, and the extensive rehabilitation he has done to be fit for the World Cup.

Congratulations Ollie on your selection, and we wish you the best of luck in South Africa for the World Cup.
