Last night the Manly Cricket Community came together to officially launch the Waratahs 2013/14 season.
Set at the amazing International College of Management, Sydney up on Manly hill, the canapes, beers and bubbles served by the ICMS staff was a superb start to the evening, the satay chicken skewers especially coming off a hit. But that wasn’t the only highlight. With attendee’s such as Cricket NSW Chairman John Warn, NSW Treasurer Mike Baird, Manly Mayor Jean Hay and Warringah Mayor Mike Regan, we had a great bunch of dignatries attending that brought a bit of high end of town feel.
We had General Manager from our Major Sponsor at Travelsim, Wade Heggie, up on stage and speaking passionately about the local community and the reason for Travelsims involvement in our club, and it was something that really resonated with the 110 guests.
But it was a night for our players. We had brand new players to the club, players returning, local juniors getting their first taste of 5th grade, and seasoned players getting theier first taste of things to come. All 55 players graded were presented to the crowd, awarded their Manly hats and given their gear for the season. For some it weas their first Manly cap, one which they will be sure to treasure.
A big thankyou to Simon Lyon for his fantastic MC duties on the night, as well as Sam Webber for the fantastic digital presentation that topped things off.
If the season is anything like the launch, we are in for a cracker. Bring on round 1.
