TravelSIM Manly Warringah Waratahs win 2014-15 Club Championship

It is with great pride that we confirm that the TravelSIM Manly Warringah Waratahs are the Club Champions for 2014/15. There is still one round to go but we currently have an unassailable 206 point lead over 2nd placed Sydney University. The one dayer next weekend has a maximum 140 points available.

There is a lot of hard work and effort that goes into a grade cricket club. From our magnificent coaching staff, to our volunteers, managers, scorers, sponsors, members, supporters and committee members, everyone has played a huge part in winning this prestigious award, something which all clubs aim for.

Of course, the players are the ones who deserve the most credit. They have worked hard, stayed positive and played some excellent cricket across the season. Things have not always gone according to plan, but we have got up in the close games all year, winning those important moments when it has mattered.
For the first time ever we actually have all 7 sides, including Green Shield and PG’s, qualify for the finals. This is the first time in the clubs history that this has ever happened.

It’s also the 5th time we have won the Club Championship in the last 16 years, the most out of any other club during that period of time.

But there is still a lot of hard work left in the season, and we want to take home some titles this year. Winning a Premiership is not an easy thing. It takes hard work, good timing, good luck and good management among many other things. It’s not that often that you get an opportunity to be involved in a premiership victory, so when the chance presents itself we need to take it.
Good luck to everyone for the rest of the season. It’s fantastic to win the Club Championship, but we now have an opportunity to turn an excellent season into a great one.
