Waratah Trailer – 11th/12th of December

The Waratahs will head into round 5 for the lower grades and round 6 for the top grades after an impressive showing against Sydney last weekend. First Grade fought their way to claim a tight victory with the star performers being Matt Brewster with the bat and Ryan Hadley with the ball, a Logan Weston 72 wasn’t quite enough as 2nd grade fell short of Sydney’s total, a century for club favourite Sam Hole got his 3rd grade side the win, Brynn Mendel showed his class with the bat with 64* in 4th grade and 53 from Hayden Calvert got 5th grade the win.

Ryan Farrell will once again be a key player this weekend in the middle order, He is turning into a very good and very experienced first grade cricketer. Faz was outstanding last weekend stepping in for Jay Lenton as skipper and this weekend with doubts around Jay’s availability, Faz may well be at the helm again against UNSW. UNSW sit 10th in first grade, 8th in second grade, 2nd in third grade, 4th in fourth grade and 16th in fifth grade. They have had a solid start to the season across the grade and will be a very difficult opponent this weekend.

Women’s first grade suffered their first defeat of the season at the hands of Penrith last Sunday and will be looking to get back in the winner’s circle this weekend. St George-Sutherland currently sit 2nd in Women’s first grade but a win for the Tahs will see them overtake them, this match will be played at Manly Oval on Sunday. Our Women’s 2nd grade side will be looking to notch up their second victory of the season as they travel away to face St George-Sutherland at Harold Frazer Reserve this coming Sunday. Our 6th placed women’s third grade side will take on 5th placed Parramatta at Balgowlah Oval on Saturday after a heartbreaking loss last round.

It’s another big round of cricket as we get closer to the Christmas Break with 1st grade men’s and PG’s also going head-to-head with Mosman on Sunday to round out the regular season of the T20 competition’s. Enjoy your weekend of Cricket and Go Manly.
