The Manly Warringah Waratahs farewelled a highly successful 2024/25 season at the annual presentation evening on Saturday 13 April.
Returning to the Manly Pacific, more than 200 guests — including current and former players, partners, and family members — gathered to celebrate another fantastic year.
MC duties were carried out by women’s coaching staff member and media extraordinaire Matt White, who did a fantastic job throughout the night.
As always, the evening began with Club President Andrew Fraser, who delivered a strong overview of another successful season for the Tahs.
From there, the awards kicked off, with batting and bowling honours presented to standout performers from each team, along with club-wide performance awards. For the full list of winners, see below.
Following the dinner break, some of the club’s most prestigious awards were presented — including the George Lowe Medal, which was awarded to Holly Searles.
This award recognises the player who has contributed most to the local community. It is named in honour of George Lowe, whose service to cricket on the Northern Beaches and to the Manly Club was truly outstanding.
Club great and life member Sam Mesite received the President’s Award, presented by Andrew Fraser. Sam has been an integral part of the club for many years and, more recently, has played a key role in the coaching staff as both batting coach and “net captain.”
The Senior Women’s Player of the Year was awarded to Ella McCaughan, who had a fantastic season and was instrumental in the success of our W1s side.
The parents of the late Michael “Juice” Shepheard were invited on stage to present the Michael “Juice” Shepheard Senior Male Player of the Year award, which was fittingly won by Ahillen Beadle.
Our PGS and 4th Grade premiership-winning captains and teams were then invited on stage to receive their premiership medals.
The Women’s Players’ Player was awarded to Arabella Handley, while Adam Searle took home the Men’s Players’ Player. Both featured prominently in the point scoring throughout the night, demonstrating their consistency throughout the season.
The evening concluded with 4th Grade skipper Adam Parkinson being honoured as the 2024/25 Keith Marks Clubman of the Year.
Parko has been a massive part of our club — not only on the field, where he has now won a record six premierships for the Tahs — but also through his work in developing the club’s future stars in his role as 4th Grade captain. Congratulations, Parko, on this well-deserved achievement.
