Coming into this fixture, the side has taken a 4-2 lead in the Ashes Series after winning two of the opening three ODI’s across matches in Brisbane and Coffs Harbour. 4 crucial points will be awarded to the winner of this Test Match, while the series concludes with three T20I’s worth 2 points each to determine who walks away with bragging rights.
It is fantastic to see the women’s game go from strength-to-strength in this country, and the Waratahs are proud to be a part of this movement with the addition of our U/17 Brewer Shield side in the Sydney Grade Cricket Competition this season. The side, made up entirely of Manly Juniors, kick off their campaign at Universities on November 26th, before playing their first home fixture at Manly Oval on December 3rd.
Similarly, our junior girls teams have been in fantastic form, with the U/13 Mollie Dive Shield side the first step into women’s representative cricket. This side has already made enormous strides and this year they have managed to finish the preliminary rounds undefeated, taking out the minor premiership in the process. It’s an amazing achievement and one that bodes well for women’s cricket in the area.
We are so excited to see the women’s game grow both on the Peninsula and across the country, and look forward to seeing the Australians take home the Ashes for another year!
