What a brilliant Saturday with the Tahs going 6 from 6. W3s won the tightest game of the day by 2 runs against Sydney thanks to a superb 50 from Mia Nel. Highlights for the boys were half Centuries from Reiley Dunlop in M5s, Sam Hole and Ellis Raymond in M3s, and Joel Davies and Ryan Farrel in M1s. Jake Carden again took 5fa in M1s, with 4fa from Adam Parkinson in M4s and Isaiah Vumbaca in M2s. Congratulations to all players, a fantastic day. Go Manly
Our Quest Events Sunday had the Tahs continuing their winning ways in Brewers with a hard fought victory. Plenty of contributors with the bat but it was Ellie James with the performance of the day with 5fa. Unfortunately W1s and W2s were both soundly beaten by Parramatta District Cricket Club, both just not scoring enough runs
Surrounded by stars and speed and pace, It is the subtle man who strikes without a trace, Six stitches, four pieces he gently holds, It swings and seams and cuts and folds, As the infinite victims continue to discover, Jacob Carden, there is a bowler like no other.
Five wickets not once but twice on the bounce, The plateau prince’s ball seems an extra ounce, Turning the game on it’s head yet again this year, Join us in congratulating with a rounded cheer! Congratulations to this weeks @4Pines Men’s Player of the Week, Jake Carden ! #bleedblue
After a long trip out to God’s country of Penrith, the ones boys had a delayed start due to a wet run-up. Two hours later we got the all-clear to commence play as we were sent into bat on a relatively juicy wicket with a reduced game of 45 overs. Bryant and Beadle got us off to a reasonable start under the circumstances before Lenton and Farrell reconsolidated after being 2-45. An unfortunate run-out saw Lenton depart for 37. Davies came to the crease and he and Farrell put on a quick fire 92 runs to get the team into a strong position with 187 runs with 8 overs remaining as he was dismissed for 57. Farrell followed shortly after for a well compiled 56. Constant wickets continued to fall due to unselfish batting from the lower order as we made our way to 232 all out after our 45 overs.
With 232 on the board in a 45 over game, we knew we were right in the hunt to win this game but there was still work to be done. After a bit of good fortune for Penrith getting top edges going for four and lots of play and misses, Penrith’s put on 51 for their first wicket in quick time. Who else but Jake Carden did the skipper call on to get the breakthrough. An absolute seed taking the top of off stump was just the beginning of his day. He then went on to take the first five wickets by himself in no time at all, making it back to back 5fas. What a day to be the Ping. A flurry of wickets through the bottom order took place with Davies picking up two and Hadley one before we were forced to bowl spin due to bad light where Gainsford was called upon. Bowling his “spin” he then took the last two wickets seeing us have a very comprehensive victory of 50 runs over the Panthers.

he two’s boys arrived to Manly Oval on a glorious Saturday morning. With a couple of changes we lost O’Sullivan and Gainsford to the High Grade and welcomed back Married at First Sight superstar Cameron Merchant. After scoring a mountain runs last week against Gordon and not getting any points we knew we were in good form with the bat.
Captain Andrew Jamieson lost the toss and the boys were bowling first. We knew that on a deck at Manly over that does a bit early wickets were key in the first 15 overs.
We didn’t start off too well with a bowl as the Penrith boys were 47 before the first wicket. With some good bowling by The skipper we took a few quick wickets and had Penrith 5-83. After that the Penrith boys put together a partnership with the six and seventh batsmen, both scoring 50s. Fortunately enough for us the rest of the batsmen didn’t pay and we needed 201 runs for victory.
We lost Matt Brewster early in the peace but Ned Hole and Cameron Merchant put the foot down and got us off to a great start. Cameron got us to 65 before he was dismissed and shortly after Ned was dismissed at 3- 95. As Isaiah Vumbaca and Jordan Daly were at the crease both looking in good touch taking on the spinners and pace from both ends. Izzy was dismissed at the score 4 for 120. From there it was the ginger show, Zach Trewartha joined Jordan Daly at the crease and the boys never look like getting out. With some hard hitting from Zach and Jordan the boys manage to pull off the chase 4 down in the 46th over. Jordan finishing 48 not out in Zach finishing 41 not out.
Another key 6 points at this time of the year. On to Mosman of the next week who are riding top of the table.

he mighty 3s travelled out west to take on Penrith. What a day to be out there, overcast conditions and a cool breeze. Skipper Hole lost the toss and we were sent in. A slow outfield awaited openers Hole and Coyte. Both batted with confidence and class once again taking the opening partnership past 50 before Coyte was dismissed. Sam soon bought up his 50 however when he fell at 3-95, it was up to Neal and Ellis to bring our score up to around the 200 mark. Both batters took it to Penrith, putting on over 100 runs together and taking the score above 200. Neal dismissed on 43 and Ellis not out on 64. 6-208 on the board and we were extremely happy on a very slow outfield.
Opening bowlers Bain and Prowse started off well, restricting the Penrith batters who showed minimal intent. Ellis got us going with a run out early on and at the end of their opening spells, Prowse and Bain had restricted them to 1-20 off 10. Hobbo and Evan took the ball and bowled well with Evan snicking off their number 3 + 4 and Hobbo picking up an important wicket. Spin twins Trewartha and Ellis came together and zapped overs out of the game with Penrith constantly needing over 6s to win this game. Credit to their opener who kicked into gear and started hitting the ball everywhere, however it was little too late as Prowse and Bain came on to finish off the innings and bowl Penrith out for 179. Neal with 3fa, Bain and Evan with 2fa and Hobbo and Ellis with the 1.
The boys are creating some momentum at the right time leading into a big finals push, only 2 points outside the 6.

t was an eerily overcast day when Manly’s 4th Grade team descended upon Graham’s Reserve. Another week and another change in personnel, with a few newer additions
With spirits raised over the advent of a Morne Morkel, skipper A. Rochford lost the toss and we were bowling
With an early wicket being taken in Rochy’s first over, the tone was set for the rest of the match. Liam Dinan’s expertly curated 10 over spell, with Rochy’s line and length, we had them 2 wickets for 44 runs after the first session.
Not only did the high quality bowling of Josh Cooper and Liam Dinan assist with our bowling effort, but the terrific energy in the field, conveyed by every man on the paddock.
A brilliant 4 to 6 over stint from Josh Cooper and Parko saw the reeling Penrith side lose 4 wickets for about 3 runs.
And finally, with a one- handed snatch on the first ball of his 3rd over, Parko had taken the last wicket, finishing on 4 for nothing off 2.1 overs. We had bowled them out for 66, in 28 ish overs: a mammoth effort.
With the dynamic duo of Oscar Lucious and Brynn Mendell, we were off to a flying start, 4s and 6s going everywhere and after 15 overs, we had done it, receiving a bonus point in the process

he 5s boys headed out west for a crucial clash against Penrith, where a win was needed to keep in the top 6. Captain Reiley Dunlop won the toss and batted on a flat dry wicket with intentions of setting a solid total that our strong bowling attack could defend.
He lead from the front with a well made 65 where he rotated the strike well. A strong base was made with Hayden Calvert (10) and Jake Hutchings (30) accompanying Dunlop for much needed contributions. Jake Osborne (16) in the middle order was one of many who pitched in allowing Manly to bat their 50 overs and total a respectable 7/165.
The three main seamers Josh Lawson (2/9 off 7), Ollie Melville (1/10 and James Waddington (1/18 off 6) bowled patiently to restrict early runs and build pressure. Allowing Jake Hutchings to execute a brilliant direct hit run out from point, outlining a quality fielding performance. Spinners Raj Ganeshraj (3/27 off 10) and George Cumming (2/21 off 7.2) cleaned up after the pace attack, running through the middle and lower order to both pick up their best figures in 5s this season. The meticulous bowling performance showcased the weeks of hard work paying off.
Manly dismissed Penrith for 88, getting them a bonus point too. Raj continues next week on a hat-trick after finishing his overs with two consecutive wickets.

W1’s to be added
t was an early and dewy morning at Old Kings Oval which forced the team to warm up barefoot, a fitting warm up for the barefoot Reconciliation Round. Manly won the toss and chose to bat on the spongy wicket and wet outfield. A tough few opening overs from the Parramatta openers lead to an early wicket, and unfortunately, the wickets didn’t stop after that. Although we put in a fighting effort, with special mention to Jasmine for toughing it out and top scoring, ultimately, we were bowled out for 91 after 33 overs.
The low total we set ourselves to defend didn’t dampen out spirits. The opening spells of bowling from Mia and Michelle were very tidy; supported by tight fielding put the pressure on the batters and forced an early wicket. This motivated us further to continue our great fielding efforts. Although we kept our energy and spirits high, the Parramatta batters set themselves and slowly but surely chipped away at their target. We didn’t give up without a fight and made it our mission to make it the hardest runs they had to make – which was backed up by tight bowling from Claire, Chloe, and Jasmine who took two wickets in the last few overs! Overall, this game showcased our fighting spirit and desire to continually improve.
