Warringah Cricket Club has made history over the weekend, claiming premierships across all four senior grades in the 2025/26 Sydney Shires season, with the most significant being their 1st Grade triumph (picture above) — their first in nearly 40 years.
The Men in Green’s clean sweep, combined with securing the Sydney Shires Club Championship, is a remarkable achievement and a testament to the club’s strength, depth and dedication to success. Winning across all four grades requires consistent performances, a deep playing group and a strong club culture — all qualities Warringah have consistently demonstrated over many seasons.

The 1st Grade premiership was a breakthrough moment for the club, breaking a drought dating back to the 1988/89 season. The victory was built on a dominant bowling performance led by Pat Day, before Chris Jones ensured there would be no late nerves with a match-defining century to secure the historic result.
Strong individual performances were a feature across the grades. Noah Kasmar’s marathon innings of 87 from 330 balls in the 2nd Grade Final showed tremendous patience and resilience, while Aidan Bennett’s century, featuring seven sixes, helped seal the premiership. In 3rd Grade, captain Ruben Donato led from the front with five wickets as Warringah defended 185, while the 4th Grade side continued their dominance with an incredible sixth consecutive premiership.

Warringah’s impact extends well beyond their own club, playing a vital role in the development of cricket on the Northern Beaches. Many Waratahs have come through the Shires system, with Warringah providing a strong foundation that has helped shape the success of cricket in the region and the strength of the local playing pathway.
Their sustained success highlights why they continue to be one of the premier clubs in Sydney Shires cricket and is a credit to the hard work of their players, coaches, administrators and volunteers who continue to drive the club forward.

Everyone at the Waratahs is incredibly proud of our close connection with Warringah and we congratulate everyone involved — from players and coaches to supporters and volunteers — on a truly historic and well-deserved season. Achievements like this are not only special for Warringah, but for the broader Northern Beaches cricket community, and we are proud to celebrate this success alongside our Shires partner club.
Congratulations again to the Men in Green on an outstanding season and a remarkable piece of club history.
