Buck joins Manly for local derby - Teams Rnd 2 vs North Sydney (2)

The following teams have been named for the Round 2 clash against North Sydney on Saturday 12th October and Saturday 19th October.

We once again have some very strong teams lining up for the local derby. Adam Crosthwaite comes into the 1st Grade side at the expense of the impressive Sam Webber to strengthen the batting order even more. Our 1st grade side is buzzing at the moment after a great round 1 performance against UNSW.

Second grade once again looks strong, however the injury curse has struck again with skipper Ryan Bonner breaking his arm on Thursday. That makes 5 players currently out with broken bones. Sam Webber is taking the captaincy reigns from Dootchman. After failing to get back to Sydney in time for Round 1, former first class player Cameron Merchant comes back through 2nd grade. He will be joined by new English recruit Nathan Buck. Nathan has played over 50 first class matches even though he’s only the tender age of 22. He will increase the quality and depth of our clubs fast bowling. This is even more of a god send considering the elbow injury to Corrie Boss which looks to have put him out of bowling for the 3rd season in the last 4 years.

The main grade, led by evergreen skipper Craig Little, is again looking good with the same batting lineup that scored 250 for 2 last weekend. 4th grade gets it’s skipper Warren Evans back and also gains ‘keeper Josh Peterson back from 3’s, however have lost last start century maker Rowan Hamman to work duties.

5th grade have been hit a little through injury with Hamish Ferguson out with a broken finger and skipper Dave Farrell injuring his old hamstrings. But the quality and depth is there this year and they are replaced by Greg Boyer as skipper and James Trickey.

Should be another enjoyable weekend. Go Manly.
