Huge influx of players makes for big changes across the grades – Men’s and Women’s Teams 5-6 February 2021/22

The Raydel Manly Warringah Waratahs have named men’s and women’s sides for this weekends upcoming premier cricket fixtures. The revamped men’s fixture now sees the tahs play Parramatta in a One Dayer, while the women’s sides face Universities and Parramatta. The return of men’s 1st grade skipper Jay Lenton is an enjoyable sight, while 8 other players return across the Men’s club after Covid kept them out last round.

Last round saw the Men’s club go 1 from 5, a disappointing result considering how close to the top of the club championship we are. The return of many big faces could help turn this around this weekend. The Ladies were successful, with 3 from 4 grades taking 6 points home.

1st Grade are boosted by the returning Jay Lenton who will lead from the front, while Isaiah Vumbaca also returns. 2nd Grade welcome the attacking Matt Brewster to take the gloves and slot into the top order, while three others return from Covid, including skipper Andrew Jamieson. 3rd grade enjoy the likes of Jordan Daly and Zach Trewartha returning to the top order, while Michael Counsell comes down from 2’s to take the new pill. 4th Grade look to maintain top spot, with express quicks Hobson and Kerr back into the attack, with swing king Evan Dunnachie also rejoining the side. Wheeler, Charles and Mendel takeover the top order to hopefully put on a clinic. 5th Grade welcome much of the 4th grade side from last week, with a whole new look pace attack.

Women’s 1st Grade look to keep their top 4 spot with an unchanged lineup against Universities. Women’s 2’s enjoy the inclusion of Sarah Gordon, while one spot is still to be named. Skipper Mia Nel returns to take the reigns in Brewers, with two spots still left to be filled. 3rd Grade include Ashleigh Karcher into an otherwise unchanged side from last week.
