The future of Manly Cricket continues to look brighter as the Manly U/13 Representative side recently won the annual Ballina Carnival.
A regional carnival that allows for junior cricketers to experience further representative competitive cricket, the competition is held annually at the beginning of the year.
The U/13’s side went through the tournament undefeated, before meeting North Shore in the finals of the competition.
Manly made a competitive 7/189, with Luke Burgess making 72, who was well supported by Jake Hutchings falling just short of his fifty with 48.
North Shore were no match for the Tahs, who bowled out there competition for 105, with wickets being shared between the bowlers.
Congratulations to all the players involved, as well as coaches Michael Slater and John Jackson as well as Manager Michael Kwan.
In other regional tournaments that took place recently, Manly’s junior representative sides all had strong showings, with the u/11’s, U/12’s, and U/14’s all finishing 3rd in their respective regional competitions.
The future of Manly Cricket is in good hands with the current crop of young cricketer’s coming through, and it is a testament to all the hard work that those involved in the Junior representative program’s do.
