Men in Green get 1st, 2nd and Tim Creer into Grand Finals

A huge congratulations to our brothers at Warringah in getting their 1st grade and 2nd grade sides through to next weekend’s Shires Grand Finals.

It is the first time 1st grade have made the Grand Final since 1997-98 which is a massive achievement. They have been there or there abouts all year so it is great to see them in the decider.

2nd grade won the competition 2 years ago, and their progression to the Grand Final is not surprising.

Both sides will be facing of against perennial Shires powerhouse Burwood Briars. Burwood won 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade last year so if the Men in Green can knock them off it would be a massive achievement. 1st grade are at Airey Park, Strathfield and 2nd grade are at Blacktown ISP

It is also fantastic to see the Tim Creer White team in the Tim Creer Grand Final as well. It’s a huge credit to our pathway program to have the young men in a Grand Final, it will be a fantastic experience for them and one that we hope will result in a massive win. The boys face Sydney at Drummoyne Oval

We wish President Brad Lewis, Club Coach Ian “Freddy” Bassett, 1st grade skipper Scott Ryan, 2nd grade skipper Nick Burrows, Tim Creer Skipper James Wright and all the players the best of luck this coming weekend.

Go the MIG, everyone at the Waratahs will be cheering for you.
