Please see the below message from Styleness Manly Warringah District Cricket Club President Andrew Fraser.
“Hi everyone
By now you will all have heard the news that the SCA, in consultation with CNSW, has cancelled the remainder of competition matches before Christmas, due to a COVID outbreak on the northern beaches.
Whilst it is disappointing to not be playing any cricket this weekend, it is without doubt the correct decision by the SCA & CNSW. Their decision was made in in the interest of the welfare of all players, umpires and volunteers.
We encourage all of our playing group to follow the advice of NSW Health and lay low for at least the next 3 days, until further notice. Please avoid using the practice facilities during this window.
On a more positive note, the club has had an outstanding start to the season – the men’s 1s are sitting 2nd, 2s are leading by 10 points and we turn 70 points clear at the top of the Club Championship, whilst our women’s 2s have been dominant in their competition and leading it, being undefeated after 9 rounds.
So well done to all our players, coaching staff and volunteers – let’s make sure we finish what we have started!
On behalf of the MWDCC Board, thank you all so much for your efforts to date & wishing you all a safe & Merry Christmas – let’s make 2021 the year of the ‘Tahs!
Cheers
Frase
Andrew Fraser
MWDCC Honorary President“
