The Manly Warringah Waratahs are proud to announce Simon Martin as the most recent recipient of our Westfield Warringah Mall Volunteer of the Month award. This award is available to Manly Warringah junior clubs and Manly Warringah Waratahs volunteers and is proudly sponsored by Westfield Warringah Mall.
Simon has been a committee member and treasurer of Harbord Devils junior cricket club for the last 4 years. For the last 7 years he’s been coaching teams, both boys and girls, and has been Harbord’s girls coordinator for 3 seasons. He spends hours every weekend managing and umpiring matches.
When the original Manly Mini Bash organisers were looking to hand over the reins, Simon stepped in and took on the team recruitment role which helped ensure the annual competition could continue. With the support of Simon and Fiona Brewster (a previous volunteer award winner) Manly Mini Bash continues to flourish.
Simon has been described as “someone you can rely on who will go above and beyond to be available for any odd job”. We are extremely fortunate to have Simon and people like him who dedicate their time and talents to grow the game we love on the Northern Beaches.
Phill Edwards presented Simon with his award of a framed certificate and a $250 voucher courtesy of our great friends at Westfield Warringah Mall.
